Red Hook Peacemaking Program

MODELS AND SERVICES USED:

Peacemaking circles are based on a Native American Navajo Nation approach to conflict resolution between parties, where parties are brought together to heal relationships and come to consensus. Outside of circles, participants use healing steps and personal advancement sessions to also work on themselves and their own goals between sessions. These sessions are facilitated by staff, volunteers or interns.

APPROXIMATE NUMBER OF RESTORATIVE JUSTICE CASES PER YEAR: 100

APPROXIMATE NUMBER OF PEOPLE SERVED: 300 per year

APPROXIMATE NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS PER YEAR: Approximately 20-30 new volunteer Peacemakers are trained each year.
