The University of Kansas Ombuds Office seeks a full-time Associate Ombuds to join our team to promote an environment that embodies the University’s mission and values in alignment with its strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of organizational, group, and individual dynamics to enhance our efforts to foster a culture of trust, respect, and belonging. This person will have demonstrated capacities to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information, and work to build and maintain positive work relationships with colleagues and the people they have served. A critical aspect of this position will be designing and offering facilitations for groups in conflict, and training sessions on conflict management strategies, as offered by the Ombuds Office.

Alongside the University Ombuds this position acts as a neutral, independent, informal, and confidential resource for university faculty, staff, students, and administrators who are seeking assistance to resolve questions and concerns affecting their relations with peers or the institution.

The Associate Ombuds position will be designated hybrid: there will be significant in-person components to the work, and there will be flexibility for some remote work each week. They will report to the University Ombuds.

The salary range for this position starts at $80,000. The University of Kansas offers a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4-6 years in a strategic leadership and fundraising role

Responsibilities: The Director of Development will be responsible for co-creating and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy. They will be tasked with overseeing and executing all aspects of a comprehensive fundraising program including the annual appeal cycle, donor stewardship and communication, events, corporate and foundation fundraising, individual donor cultivation, and data management. The Director of Development will also make recommendations on and, if appropriate, create a roster of new giving opportunities, such as small volunteer-hosted events and planned giving marketing.

The Director of Development position is based on a 32-hour work week, but the expectation is on meeting goals. They will report to the Executive Director, and manage the Development and Communications Associate, who supports all back-of-house fundraising functions.

Details: The salary range set for this 32-hours/week position is $85,000-$95,000. C4RJ offers a retirement plan with an organization match and also provides generous paid vacation and holiday time off. C4RJ staff has recently returned to a hybrid in-person environment. Executive Director

Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education required.
  • Terminal degree in relevant field preferred.
  • Experience in fields including peacebuilding, conflict transformation, restorative justice, community/international development, or related fields desired.
  • Demonstrated ability in program management, financial management, and personnel management, preferably in an academic setting desired.

Respionsibilities: The Executive Director (ED) is an EMU administrative appointment with faculty status responsible for overall leadership and management of the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding. The ED directs the mission of CJP and promotes the Center across and beyond EMU, builds relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, and develops resources for CJP’s success. Duties include overseeing strategic planning, administration, budget preparation, curriculum (credit and non-credit), and promotion of CJP. The ED is responsible for setting vision, collaborating in developing curriculum, and meeting enrollment targets for graduate programs. The ED will provide experience and expertise in fields related to CJP’s core mission in areas such as graduate education, training initiatives, practice opportunities, and other programs across the university as needed. The duties may include teaching a minimum of one class per academic calendar year. The ED reports to the Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Professions.

Details: Twelve-month contract. Salary determined by education and experience.
